Tiburon Wedding for Reesah and Bowen
This Tiburon wedding was perfectly designed to match Reesah and Bo’s intimate wedding vision, with a focus on spending time with their closest friends and family.
Held at The Community Congregational, Bo and Reesah designed their wedding to be outdoors so they could enjoy the view of The Bay Area and, at times, the Golden Gate Bridge. Later on, the dancing was held inside, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the evening!
About Reesah and Bo
High School sweethearts, now married, Bo and Reesah met before graduation. Bo wandered off to the Naval Academy, and Reesah stayed home to focus on her degree. Their relationship was long-distance throughout their first four years together. They made it work with phone calls, texts, and occasional breaks and trips together. Fast forward to their trip to Kauai: Bo proposed to Reesah, and they got to experience it with their family by their side every moment. Now, they are in San Diego together, building a life of their own while Reesah continues her education and Bo continues serving as an Officer in the Navy.
I asked both what they loved most about each other – and the answers paired up perfectly. Bo loves that Reesah is supportive and always does something that makes Bo’s life easy. From little side jokes to things around the house. As for Reesah, she loves that Bo always chooses her and their relationship. He supports her goals and dreams and always encourages her. Together, they truly are right for each other.
Tiburon Wedding details and getting ready
Before their Tiburon wedding, Reesah and Bo got ready separately. The couple did not have a wedding party, so their getting-ready moments were with their parents in their rooms. It was quiet, peaceful, and the perfect way to start their wedding day. While Reesah was getting her makeup done, I photographed detail shots. The invitations were DIY from the bride herself. Along with her stationery, I photographed their rings, shoes, heirlooms, and more. It’s the best way to start the day and share the details about their wedding.
The First Look
Reesah and Bo opted to do a first look on their Tiburon wedding day so they could enjoy their cocktail hour, take photos with their friends, and enjoy the food. We started with the first look and continued on with some photos of these two together. Followed by family formal portraits. The greatest benefit of a wedding with a small guest count is that you can get so much done before the ceremony begins, and enjoy the rest of the day! I loved seeing Bo’s reaction when he saw Reesah. And the family? So fun to photograph!
Tiburon Wedding Ceremony
The main reason Bo and Reesah picked this location for the wedding was the view. You can look out into the Bay Area and see the Golden Gate Bridge (when it’s not cloudy or foggy). But even if you cannot see the bridge, it’s still an amazing view! Here, I knew I had to take out my drone and photograph the view of the Ceremony with the bay.
Golden Hour Images
I was so excited that Bo and Reesah agreed to golden hour photos for their wedding in Tiburon. We dedicated 20 minutes to photographing on the main lawn where the ceremony and reception were. It was the perfect spot for these two to have some amazing images together. Some of my favorites to date were taken during this time. Bo and Reesah were down for anything and let me photograph their joy, plus some editorial ones as well. Something I always love doing.
Tiburon Wedding Reception and Dancing
During cocktail hour, the lawn was switched from the wedding ceremony to the wedding reception. Round tables were set up along the upper lawn, with umbrellas for shade. It was the perfect evening for a wedding reception outdoors. I got my drone back out to photograph this setup – which was done perfectly by the catering and event team at the church!
The day ended with indoor dancing. I must say, even with 40+ people, the dance floor was alive with some great energy! Especially from the Naval Academy men. It was so fun watching them dance and have a good time! From cake cutting to casual conversations, photo booth vibes, and of course, all the classic hits (even the YMCA). It was such a fun evening!
This wedding day for Reesah and Bo was exactly what they wanted it to be, and a day I loved photographing. It felt so personal, so fun, and enjoyable to be part of. From the vendor team coming together to make this day happen to friends and family enjoying the day’s events, it truly was so special and such a great day!
