The History of the Chateau
Château Allure Du Lac has the kind of history that adds instant charm to your wedding weekend. While the current building was redesigned in the 1800s with all the romantic details you’d expect—towering windows, tall ceilings, and a touch of French Gothic flair—some parts of the estate go back even further. There are stories of it once being a medieval manor, complete with moats and stone walls. Over time, it has been transformed into the dreamy lakeside château it is today. You still get that old-world elegance, but with all the modern comforts (yes, even an elevator). It’s the best of both worlds!

Getting here is easy. You can hop on a train from Paris, or fly into Nantes and drive an hour through the French countryside. You are also able to get a rental car in Angers, or take a taxi or uber from the town to the chateau. Either way, it’s totally accessible for you and your guests—and totally worth it.
This château isn’t just pretty on the outside (though, yes, it absolutely is). Inside, it has been completely renovated to feel luxurious yet cozy. Think: chandeliers, velvet chairs, antique details, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood every room with light. Each of the 14 bedrooms is uniquely designed, so your guests will feel like they’re staying at a boutique hotel, not just any old Airbnb.

Weddings at Chateau Allure Du Lac
Recently, I photographed a wedding here at the Chateau, and the couple’s options were endless. They had their wedding ceremony on the chateau’s little island. On the island stands an open gazebo, perfect for arranging florals, and has enough space for easily 100 or so people.
The wedding party got ready inside an ample living space. It was easily able to fit all the girls getting ready, with space to sit and natural light for applying makeup and fixing your hair.
The rehearsal dinner and the cocktail hour party were along the lake on a terrace in the garden, and the wedding day dinner itself was outside the chateau in the courtyard. Dancing? Inside one of the historic living and dining areas! Perfect for the evening, allowing the windows and doors to open and let in fresh air.
This venue is designed to provide a complete experience. Imagine waking up with your bridal party in the tower suite, sipping coffee while looking out at the lake. Spending the days leading up to your wedding exploring the château grounds. There’s a little golf course on site, trails for walking, and even space for lawn games or a casual picnic with your guests. It’s both relaxed and elevated at the same time. Which, if we’re being honest, is kind of the perfect combo for a destination wedding.

As a photographer, let me say—this place photographs like a dream. The natural light, textures, and outdoor feel make my job easy.
