For months, Danyelle and Alan have been planning their Chateau Saint Jeannet Wedding. Their closest friends and family flew in from the U.S., excited to see these two get married. Even though the wedding day started with rain, the weather cleared up right in time for their outdoor ceremony. On the terrace overlooking the countryside of Nice, their guests were seated and ready to start this wedding day!
Wedding Preparation
Danyelle and Alan planned their wedding day around the experience for their guests and got as many photos and videos as possible for them to share and keep. The getting ready location was even changed to the villa they were staying at in Cannes so we could have good light for the photography and videography. The couple even decided to break tradition and get ready in the same area. So, Alan saw his bride a lot the morning of the wedding. From my perspective, that was a good idea. Because them seeing each other relaxed one another. They were both having conversations, Alan was dancing, and both were just having a great time giggling and prepping for the day. In times of stress, being there together made it all better for them both.
When it came to the wedding details, Danyelle was very specific with her and her girls before getting changed. She had created a wedding newspaper and wanted that to be part of the experience during the day.
Wedding Prep Chateau Saint Jeannet
Located in the hills of Nice stands the Beautiful Chateau Saint Jeannet. It’s a proper castle feel when you walk into the location under towers and stone, with high walls and beautiful gardens around the chateau. With only five minutes to use my drone, I knew the vision I wanted to capture the space.
Before we dove into the first look with Danyelle and Alan, we worked on some solo shots with Danyelle, as well as a first look with her wedding party.
For Danyelle and Alan’s first look at their Chateau Saint Jeannet wedding, we decided to hold it in a quieter area. This would keep them away from the noise and distractions of friends and family. One of the most beautiful moments was seeing Danyelle walk down the stairs to Alan. When they locked eyes, the day stood still and in that moment, it was only them.
To really showcase the views of this Chateau Saint Jeannet wedding, we finished off some of our favorite photos in the main courtyard. Here, we have a stunning view of the hills and valley, the chateau, and the door frame, which gives a perfect contrast. Here, we did more photos of the bride and groom. On top of this, we captured more of their portraits and family photos. I enjoyed the even light and the sun hidden.
Chateau Saint Jeannet Wedding
The time has come for Alan and Danyelle to say I Do! As mentioned, the weather was predicting rain all evening. However, a wedding miracle took place. It did rain, but only before the ceremony and later during the wedding reception dinner. You can see a great view of the valley and hills on the terrace where the wedding occurred. Guests were seated and eager to see the bride and groom that they all have traveled so far for!
The moment right before she walked up the aisle…
Danyelle had a vision for her aisle moment. She wanted to walk halfway with her mom and brother and then walk the rest of the way alone. This is so she can have her moment, and Alan and Danyelle will only see each other. I loved this idea!
The wedding ceremony was beautifully well done, with handwritten personal vows, tears and emotions, and cheering from the guests seated. Celebrating the love between these two with the breaking of the glass and a sweet dip kiss in the middle of the aisle. Plus, some of these sweet candid moments after they left the ceremony location.
Before viewing the reception tables, cocktail hour fun, and dinner service, we wanted to finish the evening with a few more favorite shots of these two! This time, we went to the Chateau Tower, which I loved doing! This gives them a bit of variety in their gallery with different locations from the chateau.
Wedding Reception
Danyelle and Alan went with a more clean and classical setup for their wedding reception dining, and I was here for the vision. I loved the location for the tables because the roof could be either open or closed. It was right down from where people could dance and had a great view of the valley.
If it’s one couple who knows how to end an incredible wedding weekend, it’s these two. Danyelle and Alan wanted to end this Chateau Saint Jeannet wedding with great music, food, a champagne tower, and sparklers on the cake. They wanted to go out with a bang! The incredible wedding team made all the visions Danyelle and Alan had come to life. From nighttime photos that give post-gala vibes to a fog machine filling the dance floor as people got dessert and danced to the millennial classics. Plus, a wonderful Hora Dance that got everyone involved. It was indeed a great way to end such a wonderful wedding day.
Lastly, we wanted to tie this evening together with some late night detail reception shots. These were captured and created by my second photographer, and I am so here for this “trend” to stay.
This wedding day was so special. I loved spending every minute with Danyelle, Alan, and their close friends and family. Each moment was so special to photograph; it was a wedding I will never forget. Congratulations to Alan and Danyelle on such a beautiful wedding weekend and wedding celebration.
