What if I told you I photographed these engagement photos in Paris in the middle of the afternoon on purpose. Let me clarify. Any photographer reading this now are thinking “wtf, you did a session in the middle of a sunny day in Paris during the busiest time of day and year?” Yeah. I did. I am stoked to tell you why.

Engagement Photos in Paris
I knew the risk of putting together this shoot in the mid afternoon. It’s summer time and people are traveling before school sets back in. The doors are open up to visitors and everyone wants to jet set to anywhere. I was one of those people. While traveling to France, I wanted to put together some content and use real couples and vendors to help me bring this vision to life. I took into knowledge of the season and location for the shoots, knowing it was going to be busy. However, I did not take into account that the Tour de France was ending just hours away. So, all the construction and road closures and train delays lead to even more challenges. But you know what, I did it.
Life does not always turn out the way you want it too. The reason behind this shoot was not only to get some photography session in, but to show that hiring the right photographer is so damn important. They have to adjust to light at all hours. They have to be able to handle stressful situations such as photography in popular places (it’s not like you will get the Eiffel Tower to yourself, so you have to work around other people). It was about showing that having a backup-plan is important because it could be needed.
I was put to the test for this shoot and I nailed it. The harsh light, the traffic, the constant changes in photo locations, the heat, the tourist season. I navigated it all and still took some stunning photos for the couple to cherish.
