Cait and Hayden hosted their beautiful Wedding in Sacramento California that was located at their family church. These two reached out to me back in January after a friend of theirs referred me to be their wedding photographer. I immediately knew they were placed into my life for a reason, and that i had to serve them on their wedding day. Today, I will be sharing their wedding day with you, and how incredible this day was.
Destinations with Dana
Hey there! My name is Dana and I am the wedding photographer behind Destinations with Dana. My soul purpose as a wedding photographer is to simply travel the world and serve amazing couples. Whether they are getting married in the U.S, or someplace magical in Europe, I want to be there to capture their wedding day. To me, it’s all about connection and serving. Cait and Hayden were such a joy to serve. On top of that, I got to meet and hang out with their wonderful friends and family.
Cait and Hayden
How these two met is something I can relate too! Cait and Hayden worked at the same feed store, and that is how they met. Cait needed help with something and Hayden happened to be the one there to help her take the lid off. Already practicing to help her take the lid off the pickle jar. Flash forward to their relationship, they have done so much together! Whether they travel to Apple Hill, concerts, or amusement parks, it’s always a good time.
When I asked Hayden what he loves about Cait, its her warmth and glow. When times are hard and scary, she pulls him out of those dark times. I asked the same thing to Cait about Hayden, and she said he pushes her closer to christ. That he also knows the days where she wants some Chik-fil-a.
Just spending time with these two throughout the wedding day, I know for a fact that these two are going to make it. I love their love for Christ, for their families, and for each other. They serve their community well and these two just bring me such joy.
Wedding in Sacramento California
I am so excited to share and talk more about their wedding day. Starting at the guest house over looking the hills, Cait got ready with her girls. Here is where I took some of my best getting ready photos, detail shots, and candid moments. My favorite was watching Cait and her friends try to open the champagne bottle to celebrate. She gets the award for taking the longest to open a bottle! But, the shot was perfect.
Hayden on the other hand, got ready with his boys over at the church. Props for him and his guys for being done on time and for being dressed and ready for photos! We hung out under the trees, took some album-worthy shots, and enjoyed the time before the ceremony.
One special part of the ceremony is that Cait’s dad lead the wedding and was one of their officiants. Their were prayers, smiles, and tears. In fact, another one of my favorite ceremony shots ever is posted below, and in black and white. There is just something about it! Plus, these two read their vows together in private, and Cait did a first look with her dad! Truly special moments.
My favorite part of the day is golden hour. They planned an outdoor reception under the tents, and bride and groom portraits at the nearby catholic school. There was joy, humor, love, and laughter between the photos and the wonderful reception moments.
Cait and Hayden, thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer! It was such an honor to document your wedding day and I am excited to see where your marriage takes you both!
