Wedding in Tuscany Italy

April 5, 2025

I’m Dana.
I take destination wedding photography seriously. If I’m going to book a flight and travel across the ocean for you, I should probably show you that I know what I’m talking about.

For over one year, Angelita and Ben have been planning their Wedding in Tuscany, Italy. With the help of their parents, sponsors, and family members, they planned a wedding weekend that was perfect for their guests. From scooter rides in Tuscany to a delicious pizza dinner during rehearsal, breakfast the morning of the wedding, and an incredible evening to end a wedding day filled with dancing and a Filipino buffet (after the Italian dinner service), the wedding experience was perfect.

About Angelita and Ben

Ben and Angelita (Geli) met in College. It was their freshman year, and they both joined a kite-boarding class. After class, Ben asked Geli if he could walk her home and asked for her number. They have traveled and enjoyed the slow-down time with their friends throughout their relationship. While on a trip 8 years later, he proposed! They were flying their trainer kite, and in the air, he asked her to marry him! She said yes (obviously) and now lives in Arizona with their two dogs and cat! Geli is an ICU nurse, and Ben is a special education teacher. They continue to enjoy traveling, exploring, and hanging out with their friends and family every chance they get!

The weather changed every day in the week before the wedding. From low 60s and sunny to low 50s and rainy, it was hard to tell what this wedding day in Tuscany would be like. When the wedding day came around, it was calling for rain most of the day and chilly temperatures. Even with the weather, we were all in good spirits. “Shouganai- It is what it is” was our motto for the day. There was nothing we could do about the weather except make the most out of the day and stay positive!

This wedding in Tuscany, Italy at Villa Febea was still put together so beautifully, and each vendor team ensured that it was the best day for everyone attending and that the bride and groom were happy!

Wedding Rehearsal

Before the wedding day, I want to share more about their rehearsal dinner the night before. The weather was beautiful and sunny, perfect for lounging by the pool, taking portrait photos, and having dinner outside. We loved the evening feel of Villa Febea and enjoyed the view as close friends and family gathered for time spent together.

We started with a rehearsal at the small church on site, making sure the wedding party knew what to do for tomorrow’s ceremony. It was a breeze to walk through, and it was not long after that we were finished, and it was time for photos and to eat!

The golden hour could not be more golden, and the warm sun was beaming against the hills and valleys. After taking photos of Geli and Ben, I took pictures of a few couples and friends and the rehearsal dinner set-up. The bride and groom even got gifts for the wedding party.

For dinner, we had eight different servings of pizza, and then… Nutella pizza for dessert! It was a great idea to have nine flavors of pizzas served at each table where each person could try a slice.

Wedding Prep

The wedding was held at Villa Febea in Tuscany, and thankfully, it was very spacious for getting ready photos! For our bride, the photo and wedding prep were upstairs, and we had this well-lit balcony sealed in. It was perfect for detail shots, candid moments, and group photos with Angelita and her girls!

Ben and his groomsman got ready downstairs in the living area. There was a small break in the rain, so we took them outside for some portraits! Ben helped his guys with their boutonnieres, putting on the jackets and got ready to head down to the ceremony church on site!

Villa Febea has a small church on site. It can fit up to 40 people, the maximum Geli and Ben had for their wedding guest count. The church was the darkest church I have ever photographed in, but with the help of the door staying open and some lit lanterns, it was all we needed for the ceremony to be held indoors.

Bride and Groom Portraits

Right around the time for the bride and groom portraits to start, the weather held up. Thankfully, it stopped raining, so we had about 30 minutes of rain-free weather to head down into the vineyard with a nice view of the valley and the hills. The perfect view to show off a bit of Tuscany. Angelita and Ben were so excited to be married, and so their joy in the wedding photos were authentic and so perfect!

The Wedding Reception

The wedding reception for this wedding in Tuscany was one of the favorites I ever photographed for a small wedding. Angelita and Ben had around 40 guests at their wedding. These types of small weddings mean I can get away with small group photos and have the guests take pictures with the bride and groom after dinner and cake service. This way, everyone who wants a photo with them will have time to get one!

First Dances

Our first part of the evening was when Angelita and Ben were introduced, followed by the first dances as a couple and with the mom and dad. Angelita changed into a more formal evening gown with some boots for comfort and to mix up the look. I loved the dress on her!

When it came time for the cake cutting, this was the first time in a long time that the couple smashed the cake into the other’s face. It was fun and playful! We also had a surprise from someone in the bridal party, where they sang a Filipino hit to Ben and Geli.

Of course, what better way to end the festivities than with dancing and group photos? I took so many fun pictures of each couple and family who visited the couple for photos. But here are just a few of many!

Wedding in Tuscany Italy

This wedding in Tuscany, Italy, was the first of the season for me in 2025, and I could not ask for a better wedding to start my 2025 season. Angelita, Ben, and their friends and families were amazing, and we all had a great time. The vendors came together to make the day unforgettable; it was so nice seeing us get along, have a good time, and have great conversations. We all loved that the couple had a vendor table for us to sit at.

Thank you so much, Angelita and Ben, for having me as your wedding photographer! I had an incredible time with you all on your rehearsal and wedding day. I wish you both all the best as you continue serving your community as nurses, teachers, and pet parents!
