Wedding Venues in the South of France

December 13, 2023

I’m Dana.
I take destination wedding photography seriously. If I’m going to book a flight and travel across the ocean for you, I should probably show you that I know what I’m talking about.

Let’s talk about some wedding venues in the South of France. From magical château and picturesque coastal towns, the region boasts an array of stunning wedding venues that will make your special day even more extraordinary.

Imagine exchanging vows in the romantic setting of a centuries-old castle, surrounded by lush gardens and elegant architecture. Or picture saying “I do” on a sun-kissed terrace overlooking The French Riviera. The South of France offers an incredible selection of venues to suit your style and preferences.

Not only will you and your guests be enchanted by the exquisite surroundings, but you’ll also have access to world-class cuisine. Indulge in delectable French delicacies as you celebrate love in one of the most romantic destinations in the world.

In this blog, I will share two of my favorite wedding venues in the South of France, each with its own unique charm and allure!

Factors to consider when selecting a wedding venue in the South of France

The South of France offers a multitude of benefits when it comes to choosing it as your wedding destination. Firstly, the region is known for its stunning natural beauty, with picturesque landscapes. From rolling vineyards and lavender fields in Provence to the azure waters of the French Riviera, every corner of the South of France offers a unique and enchanting setting.

Secondly, the South of France is renowned for its pleasant Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters. This means that you can plan your wedding for almost any time of the year, taking advantage of the region’s beautiful weather. Whether you envision a summer beach wedding or a cozy winter celebration, the South of France has the ideal climate to make your dreams come true.

Lastly, the South of France is a cultural and culinary haven. Your wedding guests will have the opportunity to explore charming towns and cities. Whether in the city of Nice or Aix-en-Provence, the South of France offers endless activities and experiences for you and your loved ones to enjoy.

Chateau Saint Georges

If you want to host a wedding at a Chateau that is secluded from a busy town but an easy drive away, this place is it. My first impression of the Chateau was that this place had everything. Such as lodging for your guests plus a great view. And there are many options for you to host your cocktail hour and ceremony events. The rooms the guests stay in are comfortable, charming, and with great views!

Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild

The second venue I want to share, and one with the best views I have ever seen, is Villa Ephrussi. This place is it if you want to host your wedding ceremony and reception at a luxury location. Although there are no rooms for you or your guests to stay in, this is the only downfall of having a wedding here. As you drive up the coast, you will see incredible views. But, when you get to the villa, your breath will be taken away. Villa Ephrussi is the only venue in the world with a view like this. The ceremony location allows an incredible view of the French Riviera. The gardens are perfect for the cocktail hour and ceremony space. Plus, with many locations on site for fabulous portrait photography, what is not to love?

Planning a wedding in the South of France can be an exciting but challenging task. Here are a few tips to help you navigate the process and ensure a smooth and memorable wedding experience:
