Any couple who plans to have a Carmel Hyatt Wedding along the Carmel Coast knows the views here are beautiful. From having a ceremony on the patio overlooking the ocean to photogenic locations on site with the best views, the Carmel Hyatt is a wonderful place for a wedding.
Carmel Hyatt Highlands
When you follow Highway 1 South from Monterey, you begin a drive with great views of the Pacific Ocean. Without notice, people drive past the Hyatt Highlands, which sits on top of a rocky hill on your left side. I have driven past this several times, never knowing what it was. I always thought it was a large mansion. Nonetheless, it’s a location to book hotel rooms and timeshare condos and even have a wedding with the ones you love.
Carmel Hyatt Wedding
Every year, Epiphany Boutique does a styled shoot to show off some of their newest wedding dresses for the upcoming year. They try to work with new vendors and venues to collaborate and host an inspired-styled wedding. This year, our florist (Love and Flower by Angie) told us about the Hyatt in Carmel wanting to put on a shoot like this. With the help of Chic Event Rentals, Glamology Beauty Lounge, and Heart Paper Soul, we were able to create the most stunning elopement-styled wedding.
With the help of a social media follower, we found a lovely couple (whom we can’t wait to see engaged and get married for real). Chanan and Emily met through college and live in the Bay Area. Together, they agreed to be our model couple for the styled elopement. Let me say that they are so adorable!
Bride and Groom Portraits
The Hyatt is a lovely place filled with lush gardens, greenery, and great views. I wanted to show off some of the views during the bride and groom portraits. Therefore, I took them to some locations on-site that had perfect lighting while still showing off the charm.
Ceremony Set-up
For this styled Carmel Hyatt Wedding, we wanted to keep it small and focus on an elopement-style setup. The wedding arch was placed on the floor of the patio. The idea was to use the natural beauty of the background (the Pacific Ocean) in view for the guest. Therefore, we placed a half-moon floral arch on the floor to bring together the greenery surrounding the Hyatt.
Whether taking photos from the ground or up a few floors, the view is spectacular. We did a variety of angles to show off the vibe and views this ceremony would give to their future couples.
Wedding Reception Table
Our vision was to bring a bit of French into the wedding reception look. So, we got soft blue and ivory patterned cloths, white plates, and soft tan wood chargers. Our centerpiece florals were made of white, pinks, greens, and even some soft peach (funny since that is now the Pantone color of the year). We also wanted to add some candles in crystal vases to make it more romantic and lit in the sunset colors.
Our last shot of the evening was with the couple doing a “reception first look” in their evening attire and capturing some amazing sunset images with their “his and hers” drinks.
This inspired Carmel Hyatt wedding is full of inspiration. You can find some great ideas here, whether you want a small wedding or a casual 75-person wedding. The Hyatt has many wonderful spots for portraits, and some of the best views in Carmel to have an incredible and charming wedding.,
