Your wedding day is one of the most magical moments of your life, and your bride and groom wedding photos should reflect the day’s joy, love, and excitement! This guide is designed for modern couples marrying in 2025 and 2026—because love is timeless, and wedding photography trends are always appearing. However, the classics will always be a joy to look at!

Trending Wedding Photography Styles for 2025 & 2026
Wedding photography is constantly changing, and today’s couples are embracing fresh, innovative styles that break tradition while still honoring their romance. Here are a few photography trends based on what I have seen on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Google.
- Candid Style Shots – Couples want natural, in-the-moment shots that capture genuine emotion. The photographer is not directing the couple or the moment at all, and is more so a ‘fly on the wall’.
- Editorial Photography – Inspired by high-fashion magazines like Vogue, this style creates artistic images that tell a dramatic love story.
- Film Vibes – Film photography returns, adding a timeless and nostalgic feel to your digital wedding album. Many photographers may even offer printed films that are not edited.
- Colorful Aesthetic – Couples are leaning into vibrant and expressive settings to showcase their personality and love story in full color. They love the natural look, adding reds, purples, blues, etc. to their florals, invites, decor, and more.
- Drone Photography – Aerial shots capture the beauty of your venue. Unless the venue is in airspace from a nearby airport, many photographers (including myself), are offering drone photography.
Classic Wedding Photos
These are the types of photos the parents and grandparents like to hang up on their walls. The couple is facing the camera, arms around each other, and posing classically.

Walking Candid Moments
This is a fun idea to get some movement – you are guided to walk towards or away from the camera, and your natural movements do the rest. Your wedding photographer will probably not tell you what to do, but here is a hint! Alternate where you are looking and what you are doing with your hands (pocket vs. holding dress vs. messing with hair), and remember to be in the moment with your spouse.

Close-ups and snuggles
We love a good close-up, especially when the angle is just right. This is your time just to get up and get close with your partner. The photographer will help you place your hands, arms, etc., to ensure they look natural and charming.

The Wedding Aisle Love
We cannot forget about some favorites right after you say “I Do”! Or maybe, have a first look where your wedding will be? So timeless.

How to Plan the Perfect Bride and Groom Wedding Photos
1. Choose a Photographer That Matches Your Style
Your photographer should be someone whose vision aligns with yours. Please look through portfolios, read reviews, and meet with photographers to talk about your needs. It’s okay to start with three or so photographers.
2. Plan a Shot List, But Stay Flexible
While it’s great to have a list of must-have photos (first look, first kiss, grand exit), don’t be afraid to let your photographer capture unscripted moments that showcase your unique love story. Remember that wedding moments (like a first kiss, putting on the dress, and wedding party photos) are all classic shots we always get. So, try not to overwhelm yourself by making a long list. Chat with us, learn about our “we always capture” moments, and go from there.
3. Pick the Perfect Locations
Choose backdrops that feel meaningful to you as a couple. Consider golden hour (just before sunset) for soft, dreamy lighting! Please work with your wedding photographer on finding the right spots that also give the perfect lighting for their style.
4. Include Fun, Unexpected Moments
Bring props that reflect your personalities—maybe a vintage car, a champagne pop, or even your fur babies! The best wedding photos are the ones that feel true to you.
5. Don’t Forget About Comfort
Weddings are long days, and your happiness will shine through in your photos if you’re comfortable. Choose shoes you can move in, stay hydrated, and remember to have fun!
Bride and Groom Wedding Photos : Simple
Just being yourself can also lead to some great moments. Sometimes, we capture the ones where you do not expect it, and it turns out to be great! Or, you are just enjoying cutting the cake- forgetting we are even there.

Inclusivity & Representation Matter
Every love story deserves to be celebrated. Whether you’re a bride and groom, a same-sex couple, or a non-binary duo redefining traditions, your wedding photos should capture the essence of who you are. Find a photographer who understands your vision and values diversity, ensuring that every pose and setting reflects your authentic connection.
