Destinations with Dana
Hey, there! My name is Dana and I am a destination wedding photographer currently in California but moving in just a few months to Japan! My time left here in California is minimal, but the leading weeks up to our move date so far has been incredible. I have been able to serve to many couples and families. This job as a destination wedding and portrait photographer has been so amazing. Today, I am excited to share with you a proposal that I was hired to photograph just days ago.
Alexandra and Nick
Nick had reached out to me on Monday afternoon. If I am being quite honest, I almost did not pick up the phone. Who the heck was calling me mid-day via phone? No one does that these days! But I am so glad I picked it up because it lead me to get hired for a very fun proposal for Nick.
These two met via social media. I asked Nick how he met her, and Instagram was the answer. He said it was social media love. He slid right into her DM’s, wanting to start a relationship with her. It was not long after that something strong and loving formed. They became serious, and even had a wonderful baby boy named after his father.
Everyday, they grow as a family. Nick loves that Alexandra pushes him to be a better father. His vision as a father and soon-to-be-husband is to raise their family in a nice home, travel, and enjoy family time together. If it’s one thing he loves is going out and trying new restaurants and treating his girl to a nice meal.
Proposal at Ritz Half Moon Bay
This special day was well planned by Nick and with the help of close family and friends. The plan was to arrive at the Ritz, go for a walk down the coast to the special spot, and return to see friends and family waiting for them. Then, enjoy a nice dinner in the City to celebrate the engagement! It was all planned out great and thankfully, the weather was wonderful as well. Alex did have a hunch though. She knew something was up starting the beginning of the week. Little things here and there that just did not seem normal to her.
Nonetheless, she was still very excited and surprised when Nick got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. My husband tagged along with me and second shoot, making sure we captured all the fun moments. But, here are just a few beautiful shots from the proposal.
