While Angelita and Ben were visiting Angelita’s parents in Japan, they took some Tokyo engagement photos to celebrate their recent engagement! Now, these two will not be getting married in Italy until next year. However, since I live in Tokyo and will photograph their wedding, what better way to meet each other for the first time? Needless to say, we had a blast!
Even though they arrived the day before, they were in good spirits. Jetlag did not start to hit until later in the evening after dinner. But during the afternoon, we were excited to meet each other finally! Plus, their two friends came along, which made the experience more enjoyable.
Destinations with Dana
Hi there! My name is Dana, and I am an experienced destination wedding photographer. Since 2018, I have photographed weddings and content in many states and parts of Europe. Getting to photograph incredible, kind, and loving couples brings me joy, whether in California, the East Coast, or Europe. You will find that I will travel near and far for those couples, and it’s truly an incredible and blessed job that I get to do and love.
Angelita and Ben
When I was told that Angelita and Ben were visiting this June, I knew we had to get some Tokyo engagement photos done! Not only was this a great way to meet each other in person, but it also captured some images for their save-the-dates. As travelers themselves, they were excited to come here to Tokyo for the first time together as a couple. It was agreed and planned to get the photos done the second day they were here. Thank goodness, as most of the days after were calling for a lot of rain.
I knew these two were incredible and kind when we ended our consultation. But meeting them in person was the icing on the cake, and it proved to me how much they care and love each other. Throughout our day exploring and capturing their Tokyo engagement photos, I caught them randomly snuggling each other. Angelita would nuzzle on Ben’s shoulder, and the way he would sometimes glance over at her with a smile was so precious.
Tokyo Engagement Photos
We decided to do their Tokyo Engagement Photos in Odaiba, just outside the city center. What I love about this area is its beach overlooking the skyline and the Rainbow Bridge. The golden hour glow was perfect, and the sky gave way to soft cotton candy colors. Because it was a weekday, not many locals were there.
The weather was more calm before the storm (because the day after, we got about 3 inches of rain).
And while I was excited about the perfect weather for their Tokyo Engagement Photos, these two were excited about the fish jumping out of the water, and dinner that was planned after.
Once we finished up, we all went to get some Tonkatsu to end an incredible evening.
I loved meeting and hanging out with these two and talking with their friends, Aaron and Jordan. The five of us had fun exploring Odaiba and Shimbashi. I know the five of us will also have a great time in Italy at their wedding, and I can’t wait to see them again!
In the meantime, here are some more of my favorite Tokyo Engagement Photos!
