There are so many beautiful wedding venues in the South of France. Each with their own unique style, experience, and vibe. If you are a couple planning their 2025 or 2026 destination wedding and would love to have a wedding in the South of France, then I am excited to share this blog post with you.
I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings and editorials at so many beautiful chateaus and villas. The south of France (or the french riviera) is a place like no other. With views that will take your breath away, and cuisine that brings your mouth to water. There will be five places shared all with a variety of price ranges and guests count from Nice, Grasse, and Antibes.
Chateau Saint Georges
If you want to host a wedding at a Chateau that is secluded from a busy town and an easy drive away, this place is it. My first impression of the Chateau was that this place had everything. Such as lodging for your close family and wedding party guests, great views, two pools, and many spots on site for relaxing. And there are many options for you to host your cocktail hour and ceremony events. The rooms the guests stay in are comfortable and charming.
Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild
The second venue I want to share is one with the best views I have ever seen. It’s called Villa Ephrussi. This place is it if you want to host your wedding ceremony and reception at a luxury location. Although there are no rooms for you or your guests to stay in, this is the only downfall of having a wedding here. As you drive up the coast, you will see incredible views. But, when you get to the villa, your breath will be taken away. Villa Ephrussi is the only venue in the world with a view like this. The ceremony location allows an incredible view of the French Riviera. The gardens are perfect for the cocktail hour and ceremony space. Plus, with many locations on site for fabulous portrait photography, what is not to love?
Chateau Saint Jeannet
A third wedding venue that I love in the South of France is Chateau Saint jeannet. In August of 2024, I photographed a three day wedding in Nice. This chateau is about a 30 minute drive up the valley from downtown Nice/Old Tow Nice. You would need to have your guests either drive here or rent transportation (which I recommend). This chateau is so charming, secluded, and perfect for a wedding with up to 100 or so guests.
You have the option to get ready on site, and there are plenty of spaces and location options to have your ceremony, and wedding photography portraits. In fact, my first drone shots were done here and I am in love with them! When it comes to the wedding reception, you can have it outside on a patio and if it rains, there is a cover that can go over the space. So, you can still be outside but protected in case it rains.
Villa Djunah | South of France Wedding Venues
Located in Antibes, and a 25 or so minute drive from Nice, is Villa Djunah. If you are a couple planning their wedding and wanting a villa right on the beach in the South of France, then you found your ideal wedding venue! What is not to love about a space like this?
There are two spots you can have you wedding ceremony and wedding reception. Across the street in the main hall and right on the sand next to the water. I was obsessed with this villa from on the ground and above with the drone shots I took. The catering is spectacular with mouth-watering food, and views at golden hour on the beach that really give you that beach day vibe. If you do not want sand in your toes during your ceremony, you can have it right across in the courtyard. The reception area is covered and there are even beach chairs for many to enjoy and relax on during the cocktail hour.
Chateau Les Carrasses
Another one of my favorite wedding venues in the south of France is more so in the countryside. But, still in southern France. My first wedding at this chateau is not until August 2025. However, so far, the experience with the team has been incredible. There are stunning views, locations on site for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. If you are looking for something more secluded, can host some of your guests, and have a nice charming feel, then this is your chateau!
South of France Wedding Photographer
I’m Dana, an experienced world traveler and South of France wedding photographer based in California. When I think of wedding venues in the South of France, these five places are always referred to. I adore visiting one of the most beautiful locations I have ever visited. Since 2018, I have been to several countries and photographed content all over Europe and the U.S. Becoming a wedding photographer brings me joy and happiness. I only hope to return to these two places and anywhere in France to photograph your wedding day!
