I’m Dana.
I take destination wedding photography seriously. If I’m going to book a flight and travel across the ocean for you, I should probably show you that I know what I’m talking about.

This beautiful and inspired-styled Wedding in Santorini is the perfect gallery to inspire your dream wedding in Santorini! The bonus was that this was during the off-peak travel season, so there were fewer crowds, and the weather was perfect!

Getting married in Santorini is a dream for many couples. With its stunning sunsets, breathtaking views, and romantic atmosphere, it’s no wonder this Greek island is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the world. Santorini offers a diverse range of wedding venues, each with its unique charm. Rocabella Santorini is probably one of my favorite venues on the Island. This is because you get both charm, romance, a quiet atmosphere, and incredible views.

Why choose Santorini for your wedding destination?

Santorini, with its unrivaled beauty and charm, has become one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the world. This idyllic island offers a unique blend of natural wonders and cultural heritage, making it the perfect backdrop for a truly unforgettable wedding experience. The island’s volcanic landscape, with its dramatic cliffs and breathtaking views, provides an awe-inspiring setting that will leave you and your guests in awe.

Moreover, Santorini is renowned for its warm hospitality and friendly locals, who are eager to make your dream wedding a reality. From the moment you set foot on the island, you’ll be embraced by the warmth and genuine hospitality of the people, ensuring that your wedding experience is filled with joy and happiness.

Santorini wedding traditions and customs

A Santorini wedding is not just a celebration of love, but also an opportunity to immerse yourself in the island’s rich cultural heritage. The island is steeped in history and traditions, many of which are incorporated into Santorini weddings, adding a unique and meaningful touch to your special day.

One such tradition is the exchange of Stefana, or wedding crowns. These intricately decorated crowns are joined by a ribbon and symbolize the unity and eternal bond between the couple. During the wedding ceremony, the crowns are placed on the couple’s heads, signifying their commitment to each other.

Another beloved tradition is the breaking of plates, known as “Macheria.” This joyful custom involves smashing plates on the ground, symbolizing good luck and warding off evil spirits. It is accompanied by traditional Greek music and dancing, creating a festive and lively atmosphere.

In addition to these customs, Santorini weddings often incorporate traditional Greek cuisine, music, and dance. From the mouthwatering flavors of local delicacies to the rhythmic sounds of bouzouki music, these elements add a touch of authenticity and create an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Wedding in Santorini

Rocabella hotel and spa is located in Santorini and is by far the best location on the island to get married. With its spacious rooms to host your guest and incredible spots to have your ceremony and reception. I mean, imagine this view from your ceremony.

Golden hour is the perfect time for photos along the Aegean Sea for your Santorini Wedding. We started with bridal, groom, and then got them both together to capture some memorable moments.

And, if it is at all possible, I highly encourage some photos near the reception table before your guests start seating for your wedding in Santorini. This is so the couple can look at the design they have dreamed of, and take some photos along the table. It’s truly a wonderful moment.

Wedding Invitation Suite

The wedding invitation suite is a great way to share the story of your wedding. It allows the photographer to be creative and put together some incredible wedding details. Plus, gives the designers, cake artist, and florist extra images to show off their work. Something they deserve! This wedding held at Rocabella in Santorini had the best details to share.
